I've been selling real estate for over 16 years now and have lived in Charleston for 36 years. I can't imagine living anywhere else! With the beaches, boating, cuisine, history and so much to do it makes Charleston a unique place to call home. I know the area very well, I enjoy working with first time buyers and guiding them through the process. I also have been fortunate to work with many VA buyers & I recently completed the Military Relocation Professional certification. I view my role as to guide and help the buyer find what they want and then to negotiate the best deal possible. I don't think being "pushy" is how you should do business. I have 2 sons, 28 & 26 and enjoy boating, golf and relaxing with family & friends.

I chose Mike to be my realtor after I found a house an hour after it went on the market. I am a first time home buyer so i was extremely anxious and nervous about the process and making this decision to purchase my first home. Mike's attention to my wants and his patience with explaining the process was amazing. He was honest, professional, educational and when I asked him to be flat out blunt he was which is what I like. The professionalism and the knowledge that mike has of the business and the surrounding areas was far superior to any other realtor that i have dealt with in the past. This process i have heard and witnessed in Charlotte 2 years ago can be extremely stressful and aggravating but to my surprise this time it was more enjoyable. I would recommend Mike to anyone. We were under contract within 24 hours of looking at the home. The other thing that I really enjoyed was how friendly he was. He treated you more like a friend than a client. Which shows a lot about his character. He truly enjoys what he does and if you need someone who cares more about your interests than padding there pocket book you have found the right guy. If there was something not right he made sure that it was addressed immediately. Also after we closed he was able to provide me with a lot of good information on contractors. I hired Mike Goldston to sell my condo on James Island in October 2018. My primary residence is in Massachusetts so I found Mike by reading reviews of many Charleston realtors before I headed down to Charleston to put the condo on the market. Mike's reviews were glowing and choosing him was the best decision I could have made. He returned my call within ten minutes of contacting him and arranged to meet me the afternoon that I flew in. He was right on time for the meeting. His calm manner immediately set me at ease for I was feeling very stressed and uncertain about the whole process and I had very little time. Mike expertly advised me of a listing price that would be attractive in a market that he knows like the back of his hand. Two offers came in on the first day and Mike negotiated with the two buyers agents to put the property under agreement the next day. Omg we were talking to other agents who either didnt get back to us for weeks at a time or they had issues moving on with the process. We contacted Mike, gave him our deadline, as we were on a time crunch. Told him what house we were interested in. He got us in our house in 30 days. He kept in contact every step of the way. I have to give Mike a lot of credit - we are not local and this was not as easy of a process as we all thought it would be to negotiate and buy 2 shares of a vacation house (through no fault of Mike's). Mike was always professional & personable, took a solo trip to the place to Skype with us initially, went back to meet my husband and again for the inspection. But even before he found this place for us he had taken time on other properties, even coming back from a personal trip early to meet with us while we were visiting, and he was able to get so many of our questions answered by the sellers - he put in a lot of legwork! We worked with Mike exclusively for over a year to locate an eventual second home in the Charleston area, as we considered several different sections while not living in the area. We relied on Mike to guide us on characteristics of different neighborhoods and to monitor new listings for possible homes of interest, and he visited over 30 homes for us or with us. We ultimately found a home in Folly Beach which we bid on based on his examination of the house.
